When Performer Lee Durley sings, you’re hearing a lifetime combination of gospel, blues, jazz, and  R&B. This allows him to easily cross over to different music genres and capture the hearts of thousands of fans and music lovers all over the world. He also enjoys collaborating with other well-known composers and musicians. His vocal style has been likened to Nat King Cole, Lou Rawls, Johnny Hartman and Joe Williams.

 

Getting to Know the Man

     Lee was raised singing gospel in church where his father was a minister. It wasn't long after becoming a teen singing with his friends, while standing on the street corners  singing Doo Wop , that Lee began to have dreams of performing live in front of the world.  Being a vocalist, composer, and musician have always taken precedence and still defines his passion. 

     Lee Durley is one of the most prominent and respected musicians on the Monterey Peninsula, Monterey, CA. Better known to his intimate friends as "The Maestro."  Durley has had multiple appearances at the world famous Monterey Jazz Festival, and was on the board of directors 26 years for The Monterey Blues Festival. He is currently Vice President of the first International Blues Festival to be held  May 13th, 2017 in Monterey, CA.  Lee has been on the Tahoe/Las Vegas circuit and several European tours including feature performances at the Marciac and Avignon Jazz Festivals in France.     

Lee is continuously being commissioned to compose his music style for personalized celebrations, branding events and to help other artists.

The Music Just Keeps on Playing    

     Lee Durley is not showing signs of slowing down anytime soon. Instead, he’s busy sharing his gift to everyone. If he’s not on tour or in the studio recording new songs, he and Joe Indence can be seen in such intimate venues as the Elegant Cypress Inn on Thursday nights in Carmel,Ca. And on Cannery Row’s The Plaza Hotel in Monterey on Fridays. Tuesday nights you can find him serenading the diners at CIBO downtown Monterey and the fun never ends at the monthly Jazz Jams, Lee Durley Style.
